Yesterday was National Day..."HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY MALAYSIA!" haha, I know, a belated wish to the country. But I was surprised at myself for my lack of patriotism over National Day...to me it's just another holiday and no big deal. I didn't even bother to watch the parade and was quite nonchalant about the whole event. I heard the fireworks at night from KLCC on 31st midnight but then was sleeping in bed and didn't even bother looking out the window. Then as I was trying to fall asleep over the booming fireworks and celebration I thought to myself how unpatriotic I am about National Day. It's not that I don't love my country but maybe it's the lack of interesting events here and despite all the hype about Merdeka celebrations, I am unmoved and uninterested. *sheepish look* well, I can't help it but there's nothing interesting to arouse my patriotic feelings. I thought about how different I would react when I was in UK and they had events like the Queen's Jubilee Celebrations, death and funeral of Royalties like Queen Mother and Princess Margaret etc. and how I would be sooo excited over these events....I admit it, I AM more interested in those events although I'm not British. But I'm not about to switch my allegiance to UK, just that probably I was influenced by my mum and aunties who are ardent followers of Royalty news and almost anything British. From news and gossips to tea-drinking (hehe, don't glare at me for drinking tea, Hippo! :p), I've been influenced to go British. That explains why I'm a fan of Prince William and also Royal Family...and am studying in UK now :) though I am happy about this preference of mine...*grin* However, I would still support Malaysia for eg. in sports or international games eg. Commonwealth Games etc.....also Alex Yoong, not just cos he's good-looking but that he is our country's representative in the international arena....I support all Malaysians who play a role in making Malaysia known to the world.

Yesterday had nice lunch with my aunty and her family who will be going back to Uzbekistan next week...met up with my adorable cousins...Abigail and Amos. Won't be seeing them for quite a while, but they invited me to visit them next summer when they are in Sweden (home-country of my uncle).....yes, my Uncle Bjorn is Swedish. After lunch, I rested at home and then later at night went for a dinner party. Dinner was alright but was quite bored cos it was a chinese sit-down dinner.

Today didn't do much...was raining very very heavily during afternoon. Watched Shallow Hal....the movie's quite alright and meaningful...just perfect for those superficial ppl who judges ppl by their looks and appearance. Later tonight will be going for another party...at invitation of dad's friend...this time a buffet dinner at the fella's house. hehe, yea, lots of events lined up huh? I feel like a Royalty doing my 'public duty' *wink* (I wish I am Royalty!!) haha.....cos my parents won't let me skip all these events....so gonna be quite busy. But nice cos no work for me anymore....can wake up later haha :)
